it is lightweight artificial rock wall panels, accent walls, or rock-and-water-scapes, Museumrock
Products is committed to creating the most naturalistic artificial
rock in the country. Our most convincing rock is cast-in-place on site, in either solid
rubber (not latex) or styrofoam molds. Some are custom, some are stock. Our molds are created by professionally trained and formally
educated sculptors, not artisans, not concrete workers. The
president of the company actively participates in the creation of
every mold that leaves the studio and every installation on
location! If the installation warrants, we will cast-in-place, one
of our naturalistic waterfalls, free-standing monoliths, sculptural
fountains or patented layered (as in sedimentary) rock walls.
If the geographical distance is great
and the job is small, it is usually more cost effective to either sell
you the mold (commercial or residential) or sell you lightweight
naturalistic 4' x 8' facade panels. If the distance is long
and the job is a large commercial one, the most practical solution
is either our private label, single use thin plastic form liners or
our disposable styrofoam form liners. In addition to rock
walls we can create three dimensional custom
rock features such as caves, rock pilings, natural rock bases for
bronze statues, or waterfalls, using your choice of one of our five
rock-producing processes that best accommodate your needs.
Moreover, if the rockscape needs to be lightweight, we offer a line
of polystyrene based products with an all natural shell which is
quite convincing as well.
Our molds are directly (this means
photocopied exactness) cast from rock precisely as it was found in
nature. When rock is directly cast by professionally trained
sculptors who are familiar with all the latest mold-making
techniques and technological advancements, every single solitary
detail is translated. Period. Every fissure, every shelf, crack,
hole, pore, talus break...everything! With our direct-cast system,
all elements present in the original geological formation are
duplicated after we demold. Even the geomorphics (rock movement
throughout history) is captured with our direct casts.
If you opt for our
cast-in-place system, we are
afforded the luxury of using a material that is 100% convincing to
the touch as well as to the naked eye-intrinsically colored
concrete. (The weight is irrelevant since the rockscape is cast on
site). What is important, however, is that since this material is
made primarily from Limestone and sand (even cold to the touch) and
directly cast from nature, there is no traceable evidence that the end
product is artificial!
